What is a poster hanger? ›

A Posterhanger is actually a set of hardware that allows you to hang a poster on a wall without putting holes in the poster. Each set consists of two aluminum bars with rubber endcaps, six plastic clips and one nail. You can buy the sets with silver or black anodized aluminum tubes.

Apply silicone glue / grab adhesive to the back of the board. Place the board on the wall, taking care to follow the points marked in pencil on the wall. Press firmly on the board for a few moments, so that it sticks well to the wall.

For most surfaces, such as metal and wood, the typical strong adhesives such as two-part epoxies, Loctite, Liquid Nails, Super Glue, and Gorilla Glue all work well. For craft projects with light-weight magnets, double-sided tape and Glue Dots hold just fine.

Can magnets work through wood? Yes, magnets and the pulling force work through wood. The electric and magnetic lines can pass through most materials, but it cannot pass through all metal shells and superconductors.

In most cities, it's illegal to place posters on private property without express permission from the owner. Always speak to the manager before posting anything on the outside of a store or restaurant. You may even want to have them sign a release form to be 100% sure that you're in the clear.

The best way to hang posters is not to stick the adhesive to the wall and then place the poster against it. You'll have a much easier time if you stick it to the poster first. Place the poster face down on a clean, flat surface and attach the adhesive to all corners, the center, and midpoints between the corners.

Double-sided tape is a simple and quick way of how to hang Posters without frames or having to make any holes in the wall. You simply stick the tape on the wall and then remove the paper covering the other side to stick the Poster on.

Adhesive Putty

You stick blobs of putty onto the corners of your poster, then press the corners hard against the wall so that the blobs bond with the two surfaces. It doesn't get simpler than this.

Washi tape and mounting sticky putty are the best options for hanging posters, according to Herrero. However, these methods will only work with lightweight artwork printed on paper. For the best results, the surface and poster must be flat and clean.

COUNTERSUNK MAGNET AND DISC MAGNET

Our recommended method for large or particularly heavy pieces. Simply screw the desired number of countersunk magnets, with the advised pull strength into the wall and use disc magnets of the same diameter to clamp the artwork in place.

Our plan is to stick thin, Adhesive Backed Magnets on the wall. Then we can lay the poster on top of the magnet, and place another magnet on top of the poster. The magnets attract to each other through the thin poster, sandwiching the poster in place.

Consider a mount or mat board

A mount board will protect your print or poster by providing a rigid and sturdy backing to prevent the artwork from moving or warping when it's in the frame.

Make sure that you use wall bumpers, included with each of our hanging kits, on each corner of the backside of the picture frame. While making sure the frame doesn't bang against the wall, the wall bumpers also prevent the frame from sliding around.
